VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT

1. Purpose & Mission

Volunteers play a vital role in improving the Papro app experience. By contributing ideas, reporting bugs, suggesting feature fixes, and providing community feedback, you help keep Papro accurate, reliable, and aligned with its core educational mission.

2. Volunteer Responsibilities & Conduct

To maintain a safe, high-quality platform for the Cambridge student community, we ask that all volunteers adhere to the following standards:

• Accuracy: Share information, study resources, and feedback that are accurate, verified, and legally permitted to be shared.
• Constructive Contributions: Suggest improvements thoughtfully and ensure your contributions serve a constructive educational purpose.
• Appropriate Content: Do not introduce unnecessary distractions, irrelevant links, promotional material, or offensive content to Papro's public channels or codebases.

3. Respect, Inclusivity & Anti-Harassment

Papro is committed to fostering a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all student contributors and team members, regardless of their background.

• Respectful Collaboration: Treat the Papro core team and fellow student community members with respect, empathy, and professionalism at all times.
• Separation of Personal Views: We fully respect that every volunteer has their own personal, political, religious, or philosophical views. However, to maintain a neutral, focused, and productive environment, volunteers must not share, debate, or promote these personal views within any Papro workspaces, code repositories, or official communication channels. All discussions within the workspace must remain strictly focused on the app’s educational mission and technical development.
• Zero Tolerance: We strictly prohibit any form of harassment, hate speech, bullying, or targeted discrimination. We maintain an environment of mutual respect that is strictly inclusive of all individuals, including but not limited to differences in race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, faith, gender, background, or personal identity.
• Enforcement: Engaging in behavior that violates this section will result in immediate termination of your volunteer status and a permanent ban from all Papro communication channels, platforms, and code repositories.

4. Confidentiality & Data Privacy

As a volunteer, you may occasionally get an early look at unreleased features, app metrics, or internal discussions.

Confidentiality: You agree not to disclose, share, or publish any non-public information, upcoming features, or internal Papro data without explicit written permission from the Papro team.

Data Privacy:

In Short: Your personal privacy is safe with us. Individual volunteer data is never shared with third parties. We only use aggregated, anonymized information to analyze collective usage and publish high-level trends.

5. Intellectual Property & Ownership

To ensure that Papro can freely use and implement the amazing ideas and fixes our community suggests, the following rules apply to volunteer contributions:

• Ownership of Contributions: Any ideas, code snippets, UI designs, feedback, or text you contribute to Papro become the intellectual property of Papro.
• Right to Use: By submitting a contribution, you grant Papro a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, modify, distribute, and display your contribution within the app or related materials.
• Originality: You warrant that any content or code you submit is your own original work or that you have the legal right to share it.

6. Nature of the Relationship (No Employment)

Voluntary Basis: This agreement is based entirely on mutual trust and a shared passion for education. Your participation is strictly voluntary.

No Compensation: You acknowledge that you will not receive financial compensation, wages, healthcare, or employment benefits for your time or contributions.

No Promise of Employment: Participation as a volunteer does not constitute an offer, promise, or guarantee of future employment with Papro.

7. Limitation of Liability

As-Is Basis: Papro provides its platform, tools, and volunteer environment on an "as-is" basis without warranties of any kind.

Liability: Papro, its founders, and its team members will not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your participation as a volunteer or your use of the platform.

8. Flexibility & Termination

We understand that student schedules can be hectic, and we deeply appreciate any time you can give us.

At-Will Participation: This agreement is highly flexible. You are welcome to pause, scale back, or completely stop volunteering at any time, for any reason.

Termination: Papro reserves the right to remove a volunteer from the program or revoke access to contributor channels at any time, particularly if a volunteer violates the conduct guidelines outlined in Section 2 or Section 3.

9. Leaving the program

Volunteers may pause or stop contributing at any time. The agreement remains voluntary and is intended to be flexible for students and helpers alike.

Acceptance

By continuing to contribute to Papro, accessing volunteer-specific communication channels, or submitting feedback/code, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Volunteer Agreement.
